These words from Sojourner Truth, our company’s namesake, reflect an important principle of our company. Sojourner Truth was an African- American abolitionist and women’s rights activist in the 1840s and 50s. Although she was born into slavery in Swartekill, New York, Truth was able to escape to her freedom in 1826.

Every day in Ohio, thousands suffer from the devastating effects of alcohol and drug addiction leading to damaged relationships, loss of career and economic stability and poor health. It is our objective to help those suffering to realize the truth of addiction: it is possible to recover.

Recovering from addiction is not easy, but it is possible with the help of those who understand. Since 1984, Sojourner has offered a helping hand to those in need through individualized treatment approaches aimed at addressing the whole person. Sojourner helps individuals realize their dreams for a better future. In this work, we remember the gentle, humanistic philosophy of our namesake.
